Who-o-o, who-o-o did that…our friend Joe Rotella of course! He was kind enough to let us share his ‘Dlightful’ Owl Card that he taught earlier in the year at a convention. Joe is always teaching different classes and his next class is coming up soon, Saturday October 12th at Red Letter Journals in Grove City, OH. If you live near by you may want to check it out!

Cut out an owl design with the Zing cutting machine onto a piece of Cut Bond Create™. The Zing Cutting Machine is an Electronic (digital) cutting machine that functions much like a plotter, but uses a blade to cut designs and letters for card making, home décor, scrapbooking, and paper crafting. It takes your scrapbooking, card making and paper crafting to the next level. It supports your creativity and lets you cut anything, without cartridges!
CBC is a double-sided adhesive film, you get 3 Pieces – 8 1/4″ x 11 3/4″. It is heat resistant, transparent, non-yellowing, flexible and acid-free. Instantly bond from edge-to-edge with no messy clean-up. Easily adhere all paper crafts, Mica products, collage, punch art, jewelry-making and home decor projects, and use it to permanently secure photos, cardstock, cards and memorabilia onto your scrapbook pages.
Next carefully remove the outline of the owl using your Pick and Pierce Tool™. The Pick and Pierce Tool™ aka the ‘Pokey Tool’ is designed to seperate and pick-up small or awkward objects and paper pieces. It is perfect for working with Styl’ines Stickers or any other peel-off type stickers, as well as piercing die-cuts and vellum projects. An excellent tool for piercing holes, for brads, eyelets, bookmaking, and for bead work and many other creative uses.
After the outline is removed, sprinkle the tacky areas with Mica D’Lights™ -
Onyx, brush excess off.
Remove another layer and sprinkle with another color of Mica D’Lights™.
Repeat steps until owl is complete. You can also use Gildenglitz™ Leafing Metal with the Mica Dlights™ for another texture. Have fun and be creative! Possibilities are endless! Thanks for sharing Joe.
